With a dominant performance that included 656 passing yards and eight touchdowns, West Virginia's Geno Smith has earned Davey O'Brien Quarterback of the Week honors. Smith's record-breaking afternoon helped guide the Mountaineers to a 70-63 win over the Baylor Bears.
While leading his team to their inaugural Big 12 Conference victory, the senior was nearly unstoppable completing 45-of-51 passes and setting a school record with 14 straight completions at one point. Smith finished the game with more touchdowns than incomplete passes, and he now leads all NCAA Division I FBS quarterbacks with 20 touchdowns and no interceptions on the year.
Next up for Smith and the Mountaineers is their first-ever Big 12 road game against the Texas Longhorns on Saturday night.
