While many great moments, performances and games have shown the beauty of the Big 12's full round-robin schedule, the following 12 have been determined as the Best of the Best by select media members covering the Conference.

September 22
Kansas State at Oklahoma

Kansas State was picked to finish sixth in the pre-season poll, but the Wildcats quickly established that was incorrect. K-State opened Big 12 play at Oklahoma the team picked to win the title and came away with a 24-19 victory that put head coach Bill Snyder's team in the driver's seat.

Baylor at West Virginia

West Virginia's first Big 12 game rewrote the record books. The Mountaineers overcame Baylor, 70-63 in a game that saw the teams combine for 1,507 yards. West Virginia quarterback Geno Smith threw for 656 yards and eight touchdowns five of which were caught by Stedman Bailey.

Iowa State at TCU

Iowa State, in four seasons under coach Paul Rhoads, has gained the reputation as a giant killer. In 2012, the Cyclones' ranked victim turned out to be TCU. The Horned Frogs were ranked No. 13 and were playing their first Big 12 home game but fell victim to Iowa State, 37-23.

Oklahoma vs Texas

The Red River Rivalry is always one of the signature games on the Big 12 schedule. Oklahoma celebrated the 107th meeting with Texas with a 63-21 victory. The Sooners took control for good when Damien Williams broke loose for a 95-yard touchdown run the longest in the history of the rivalry.

West Virginia at Texas Tech

West Virginia went to Lubbock undefeated and ranked No. 4, but left with its first loss of the season. A big reason for the 49-14 outcome was Texas Tech senior quarterback Seth Doege, who threw for a career-high 499 yards and six touchdowns to lead the Red Raiders to their victory.

Texas Tech at TCU

A matchup of former Southwest Conference rivals Texas Tech and TCU turned into a shootout late in the fourth quarter. The Red Raiders, led by senior Seth Doege's seven touchdown passes, prevailed in triple overtime, 56-53.

Texas at Kansas

Texas faced the prospect of losing at winless Kansas, but backup quarterback Case McCoy entered the game and helped the Longhorns rally with two fourth-quarter touchdowns in a 21-17 victory. McCoy's pass to tight end D.J. Grant with 12 seconds remaining was the game winner.

Kansas at Texas Tech

In the first season under coach Charlie Weis, the Jayhawks established that they were going to be strong running the football. That was particularly apparent in one of the team's near misses as Tony Pierson gained 202 yards rushing in a double-overtime loss at Texas Tech.

West Virginia at Oklahoma State

Oklahoma State came into the season as the defending Big 12 champions and the Cowboys valiantly fought through the type of injuries that would have decimated most teams. But in the end, with three different quarterbacks winning Big 12 games, Oklahoma State qualified for a bowl game and finished in the top half of the standings. The Cowboys secured their seventh straight bowl berth with a 55-34 victory over West Virginia in Stillwater.

Kansas State at Baylor

Baylor shocked college football by upsetting Kansas State, 52-24, in Waco. The Wildcats were ranked No. 1 in the BCS standings and it was the first time in school history the Bears knocked off the nation's top-ranked team.

Oklahoma at West Virginia

This season, Oklahoma senior quarterback Landry Jones became the Big 12's career leader in passing yardage and total offense. His finest moment might have come in Morgantown on a chilly night. Jones finished with 554 yards passing and drove the Sooners to the winning touchdown with 24 seconds remaining. Along with Jones' performance, WVU used wide receiver Tavon Austin at running back where he gained an amazing 344 yards on just 21 carries and finished with 572 all-purpose yards.

TCU at Texas

TCU's great success over the last decade helped earn the school entrance to the Big 12. Any doubt that the Horned Frogs could compete was erased by the fact that TCU went 4-1 on the road in Big 12 play, culminated by a 20-13 victory at Texas on Thanksgiving night.
