• For the fourth straight week, defending national champion Texas checks in at No. 1 in the AVCA national poll. Kansas moved up one spot to No. 23, while Iowa State is receiving votes.

• The Longhorns continue to lead the league standings, improving to a perfect 11-0 in Big 12 play after a home win against the Jayhawks last Saturday. UT has now won 15 straight matches. The Longhorns have won 56 of their last 58 league matches and have not lost a Big 12 match at home since 2009.

• With the weekend loss to Texas, Kansas (9-3) moved from a second-place tie in the league standings to third place with Iowa State sitting in sole possession of second at 9-2. The Cyclones have won six straight.

• Seven league matches are on tap for this week. Three weeks remain in the regular season with play concluding on Saturday, Nov. 30. The NCAA Selection Show will air at 8:30 p.m. CT on Sunday, Dec. 1.

• Texas’ Haley Eckerman won her 13th career Big 12 weekly award with Offensive Player of the Week honors after recording a season-high 25 kills last Saturday. It also marked her eighth career award in the offensive category. It was the most kills in a four-set match by a Big 12 player this season.

• Joining Eckerman as weekly award recipients were K-State’s Taylor Johnson, who totaled 18 blocks over two matches last week, and Iowa State freshman Ciara Capezio.

• ISU ranks eighth in the nation in aces per set with an average of 1.78. The Cyclones have never finished the season ranked first in the Big 12 in that statistical category. Individually, three Cyclone underclassmen rank in the top 10 in the league, including the top two leaders in Tory Knuth (sophomore) and Ciara Capezio (freshman).

• Eight of the top 10 setters in the league are underclassmen, including six sophomores and two freshman.

• The Jayhawks have recorded 10 sweeps on the year and have yet to be swept.

• Six players were named to the 2013-14 Capital One Academic All-District Volleyball Teams last week. Elizabeth Gulick (West Virginia) is a District 2 first team honoree, while Sallie McLaurin (Oklahoma) and Texas’ Hannah Allison and Bailey Webster are District 7 first team members. Kansas’ Sara McClinton and Erin McNorton are on the District 7 second team.
