Oklahoma's Howe Named Big 12 Wrestler of the Week

Oklahoma's Andrew Howe has been named the Big 12 Wrestler of the Week for competition from Dec. 2 through Dec. 8. Howe is a perfect 12-0 on the season and won the 174-pound title at the 2013 Cliff Keen Las Vegas Collegiate Invitational last week.

As the No. 1 seed at 174 pounds, Oklahoma redshirt senior Andrew Howe paved his way to the 2013 Cliff Keen Las Vegas Collegiate Invitational finals in convincing fashion, winning by a fall in 3:47, a 16-6 major decision, a fall in 4:24 and a 16-4 major decision.

In the final round, Howe topped the No. 2 seed Robert Kokesh of Nebraska by a 3-2 decision to claim the 174-pound title. Howe’s performance helped the Sooners claim the team title at the tournament with 154.5 points, 24 points ahead of second-place and 10th-ranked Nebraska. On the 2013-14 season, Howe is a perfect 12-0.
