Oklahoma's DeAngelis Named Big 12 Wrestler of the Week

Oklahoma's Justin DeAngelis has been named the Big 12 Wrestler of the Week for competition from Jan. 6 through Jan. 12. This week's honor marks the first of DeAngelis' career. He is the third Sooner to earn a conference weekly honor this season.

In No. 4 Oklahoma’s road duals at Wyoming and at No. 17 Iowa State, redshirt junior Justin DeAngelis logged a pair of decisions to help the Sooners to victories, 33-9 and 27-11, respectively. Against Wyoming on Thursday night, DeAngelis upset No. 18 Andy McCulley by a 5-3 decision. He defeated Iowa State’s John Nicholson by decision, 10-1, on Sunday afternoon. This season, DeAngelis has posted a 12-3 overall record and a 6-1 mark in dual competition.
