ISU's Mayfield Named Wrestling Scholar Athlete of the Year

Iowa State’s Max Mayfield has been named the 2013 Big 12 Wrestling Scholar-Athlete of the Year, the Conference announced.

The senior received a degree in computer engineering in May 2012 and is currently in graduate school for business administration.

Mayfield was named to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team, graduating with a 3.42 cumulative GPA. He earned a runner-up finish at the Big 12 Championship in March and was a NCAA qualifier in the 149-pound weight class.
