AMES, Iowa - The Oklahoma State Cowboys (77) captured their 10th Big 12 Wrestling Championship in Ames, Iowa. Missouri (60) edged out Oklahoma (59.5) for second place as Nebraska (46.5) finished in fourth and Iowa State (31) fifth.

The Cowboys crowned five individual champions. It's the fifth time in Big 12 history that one school has won five or more weight classes, all by OSU (6-1997; 6-1998; 6-2003; 7-2005; 5-2011).

The Outstanding Wrestler of the Meet honors went to Iowa State grapler Jon Reader. Reader claimed his first Big 12 title and is the first Cyclone to do so in the 174 class. It is the fifth time an ISU grapler has won the award (Nate Gallick, 2006; Cael Sanderson, 2202 & '00; Chris Bono, 1997).

The finals session kicked off in the 125-pound class with David Klingsheim (NU) edging out Jarrod Patteron (OU), 1-0, in a contested match that came down to the very end. Klingsheim is only the second #4 seed to win a title. In the 133 class, it was Jordan Oliver, who dominated from the start earning a major decision over OU's Jordan Keller, 15-3. Oliver, the 2010 Co-Outstanding Wrestler, took home his second consectuive gold with the victory.

After finishing third the last two years, Missouri's Todd Schavrien took home his first league title topping Oklahoma's Zack Bailey in the 141 class, 3-2. Shavrien notched a takedown and two escapes for the win. At 149, OSU's Jamal Parks won by decision over Kyle Bradley (MU), 4-0. For Parks, it was his second Big 12 title as last year he won the 141-pound division. In a close match at 157, Cowboy Neil Erisman took down Nick Gregoris of Missouri, 4-2.

The nations No.-1 ranked grapler Jordan Burroughs earned his third Big 12 title (2008-09) in a close battle at the 165 over No. 2, Tyler Caldwell (OU), 2-1. Burroughs recorded a reversal late in round three, with just 42 seconds left. In the 174, Iowa State's Reader earned the Cyclones their first gold of the Championship with a 15-3 major decision over Oklahoma State's Mike Benefiel. The Big 12 title was the first for the nations top 174-pounder.

It was a battle at the 184 as Chris Perry (OSU) and Josh Ihnen (NU) went 4 periods. In the end though, it was the No.-1 seed Perry who prevailed by a 3-2 decision. Ihnen recorded an escape late in the fourth but Perry's reversal just before proved too much. In possibly the hottest match of the night, Oklahoma State's Clayton Foster held off Iowa State's Jerome Ward, 9-5. Thought the score dictates a gap, Foster was was forced to hold off a late surge by Ward to earn his second Big 12 title.

In the final match of the night, No. 1-seed Dom Bradley of Missouri knocked off Oklahoma's Nathan Fernandez, 3-1. The victory proved to be an important one as it propelled the Tigers a half point over the Sooners for second place.
