Sallie McLaurin, a senior middle blocker for the University of Oklahoma, has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week.

It was a big weekend for McLaurin and the Sooners as they didn’t drop a single set in the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Invitational on the campus of Missouri State University.  She was a dominant force at the net all weekend registering double-digit kills and at least six blocks in their victories over Alabama A&M, Middle Tennessee and Missouri State.

The Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week set a season-high in hitting percentage at .722 over the Lady Bulldogs, and leads the conference hitting .490 in the 2013 campaign.  She also became the first player in league history to win the Offensive Player of the Week in three consecutive weeks in a conference loaded with talent.

For the week, she averaged 4.22 kills, 2.11 blocks and 5.33 points per set while hitting .630.  This is the second time a student-athlete from Oklahoma has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA Division I National Player of the Week, with the most recent coming from Caitlin Higgins on November 4, 2008.
