Two of the Big 12's three gymnastics squads have earned top 25 spots in the GymInfo Women's Preseason Coaches Poll.

Oklahoma leads the teams with a No. 4 ranking, matching the program's highest preseason standing. The Sooners were ranked No. 4 in the 2011 preseason poll. OU has started the season ranked in the top 10 for seven straight years and the top 25 for 12 consecutive years. In 2011, the Sooners recorded their second straight top three finish at the NCAA Super Six Team Finals.

Iowa State picks up right where they left off last season, checking in at No. 24. The Cyclones return Michelle Browning who earned 2011 Big 12 Gymnast of the Year accolades, along with Michelle Shealy who was named the league's Newcomer of the Year. Shealy qualified for the NCAA National Championships in the all-around last season.

Missouri was one of 21 teams who received votes, placing them at 26th. Returning for the Tigers is Big 12 All-Around Champion Mary Burke. Twelve of the 14 competitors MU faces this year are ranked in the top 25.

The Big 12 gymnastics season kicks off Jan. 7, 2012.
