The Big 12 Conference has announced its 2014 All-Big 12 tennis teams and postseason awards as selected by the league's head coaches.

On the men's side, student-athletes from three of the league's squads claimed yearly awards. Texas' Soren Hess-Olesen was named Player of the Year, Oklahoma State's Jakob Sude was tabbed the Newcomer of the Year and Andrew Harris of Oklahoma was named the Freshman of the Year. John Roddick (Oklahoma) and Michael Center (Texas) were named Co-Coaches of the Year.

Roddick led the Sooners to a share of the 2014 Big 12 regular season title, marking the second championship for OU in the past three seasons. The Sooners head into NCAA Championship play at 23-3. Center's Longhorns (20-5) also clinched a share of the league's regular season crown. The Longhorns went 7-3 against top-25 opponents in the regular season en route to the program's seventh Big 12 title.

Hess-Olesen went a perfect 5-0 in Big 12 play at the No. 1 singles position this season and knocked off 12 ranked opponents. Last week the junior notched his second consecutive NCAA singles bid. Currently ranked 15th in the nation individually, Hess-Olesen also earned an NCAA doubles bid with partner Lloyd Glasspool as the duo ranks No. 40.

Sude, in his first season with the Cowboys, had a stellar doubles campaign with partner Arjun Kadhe. The Big 12 No. 1 doubles champions, currently ranked No. 14 in the country, finished the regular season with an 11-1 mark. The tandem will represent Oklahoma State in this year's NCAA Doubles Championships.

In his freshman campaign, Harris went 4-1 in league play at the No. 4 position to claim the position title. At 18-4 overall, the rookie received an at-large selection in the NCAA Singles Championship.

On the women's side, Baylor head coach Joey Scrivano was named the league's Coach of the Year. Breaunna Addison (Texas) was tabbed the Player of the Year, while Sofiko Kadzhaya (TCU) and Viktoriya Lushkova (Oklahoma State) were named Newcomer and Freshman of the Year, respectively.

Scrivano's Lady Bears claimed the league's regular and postseason titles after escaping conference play with an unscathed record of 9-0. The honor is the fifth of Scrivano's career. Baylor heads to the NCAA Championships ranked No. 13 in the ITA Team Rankings.

Addison followed up her stellar freshman campaign with an equally successful sophomore season. Addison enters the NCAA championship season with a 26-9 overall singles record and a No. 15 ITA national singles ranking.  The Boca Raton, Florida, native has won 10 consecutive matches and hasn't dropped a match since a March 8 indoor contest against Michigan.

Kadzhaya completed her first season with TCU with a 4-2 record at the No. 3 position in conference play.

Oklahoma State's Lushkova notched an impressive 16-4 singles record at the No. 1 spot in her first semester as a Cowgirl. She knocked off four ranked opponents in 2014 and picked up two Big 12 Player of the Week honors. The Ukrainian native is the first Cowgirl to earn an NCAA Singles Championship bid since Linda Faltynkova in 2002.

The men's All-Big 12 team is comprised of 12 student-athletes. Oklahoma led the way with four on the list, Baylor added three, and Texas notched two honorees while Oklahoma State, TCU and Texas Tech each added one member.

Student-athletes from seven of the league's 10 women's squads were named to the women's All-Big 12 team. The Lady Bears led the way with three selections.

The All-Big 12 tennis teams and awards are selected by the league’s head coaches, who are not allowed to vote for their own student-athletes.
