ITA Announces 2012 Preseason Rankings

Thirty-five Big 12 tennis student-athletes have been ranked in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's singles and doubles preseason rankings, while three have been tabbed to the freshman/newcomer rankings.

Oklahoma and Texas both placed four student-athletes on the men's singles list, while Baylor notched a pair and TCU added one for a total of 11 selections.  In doubles, the Big 12 has four tandems in the rankings, led by OU duo Costin Paval and Dane Webb at No. 1.

Seven Conference teams are represented in the women's singles rankings with Kansas State's Petra Niedermayerova landing highest at No. 14. Eight Big 12 duos are represented on the doubles list, with five ranked in the top 20.

In addition, the Big 12 landed a trio to the men's preseason freshman/newcomer rankings, occupying three of the list's 10 spots.
