June 05, 2014

The ITA has announced the 2014 All-America Teams for Men's and Women's Division I tennis. Nine of the league's men's student-athletes were featured while four from the women's side earned honors.

Julian Lenz enjoyed the top season of any Baylor player with a 35-8 record and a 24-4 mark in dual-match play. He was named the ITA National Player to Watch and a member of the All-Big 12 singles team. Lenz was 15-3 for the Bears at the No. 1 spot and earned a spot in the NCAA Singles Championship.

Patrick Pradella completed his Baylor career with a 21-10 season and a 12-5 mark in dual-match action. He earned a spot on the All-Big 12 singles team as well, while holding a 12-9 mark against ranked foes.

Dane Webb (Oklahoma) became a two-time All-American with the honor this year as he was named to the 2012 doubles team with partner Paval. The junior advanced to the round of 16 at the NCAA Championships and compiled a 33-8 record in singles play. Webb finished the year ranked 27th nationally.

Oklahoma's Guillermo Alcorta finished his senior campaign with a 28-9 record in singles play. He was named the 2014 ITA Central Region Senior Player of the Year and finished ranked No. 3 nationally. The All-American honor is added to the list of accolades Alcorta has accumulated, including the 2013 Big 12 Tournament Most Outstanding Player and the 2012 Big 12 Newcomer of the Year.

Axel Alvarez finished his sophomore season with a 37-8 record and ranked sixth nationally. The first time All-American adds the honor to his 2012 ITA Central Region Rookie of the Year and Big 12 Co-Freshman of the Year award.

After reaching the semifinals of the NCAA Doubles Championships, the Cowboys’ Arjun Kadhe and Jakob Sude closed out the season at No. 8 in the doubles rankings, marking the highest year-end finish in program history. The All-American Cowboy duo finished the year with a 15-3 record and earned the title of Big 12 No. 1 Doubles Champions.

Soren Hess-Olesen and Lloyd Glasspool of Texas finish the season with a 27-12 record, including 14 wins over ranked opponents. The duo advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Doubles Championship but withdrew due to injury.

Baylor's tandem of Victoria Kisialeva and Blair Shankle completed the season with a run to the NCAA Doubles quarterfinals to earn All-American honors and a No. 22 final ranking. Despite not playing together during the middle part of the season, Kisialeva and Shankle totaled a 21-6 record overall and a 10-3 mark in dual-match play.

Oklahoma State's Viktoriya Lushkova finished her 2014 campaign at No. 37 in the singles polls, the highest ranking thus far in her collegiate career. Lushkova reached the NCAA Singles Championships’ Round of 16, helping her end the year as the seventh-highest ranked freshman in the country.

Breaunna Addison of Texas became the 10th Longhorn to earn back-to-back ITA singles All-America honors. The sophomore notched UT's first Big 12 Championship at the No. 1 singles position since Petra Dizdar in 2005 this season.
