Hahn Highlights Volleyball Honors for Fourth Straight Week

Haley Eckerman (Texas), Kristen Hahn (Iowa State) and Julia Doyle (Oklahoma) have claimed Big 12 volleyball weekly honors for matches from Oct. 1-7.

Hahn earned the Defensive Player of the Week honor for the fourth consecutive week, becoming the first student-athlete to claim an accolade in four straight weeks in any category. This is her second season in a row in which she has collected the award four times, giving her eight for her career.

Eckerman was named the Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season and fourth time in her career. The sophomore has nine total career awards after also earning five Rookie of the Week distinctions in 2011.

On the career weekly awards chart, Eckerman's nine awards ties for third-most honors all-time, while Hahn's eight is fourth-most all-time.

Doyle claims her first Rookie of the Week honor.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Haley Eckerman, Texas, OH, So., Waterloo, Iowa
Eckerman recorded 32 kills (5.33) while hitting .286 with one assist, two aces, 17 digs, two blocks and 35.0 points (5.83) in two 3-0 Texas wins. The Longhorns improved to 6-0 in Big 12 play with a home victory over TCU on Wednesday and a road win over No. 14 Kansas State on Saturday. Eckerman totaled a team-high 13 kills while hitting .171 with six digs against TCU. On Saturday in Manhattan, she recorded her first career double-double with 19 kills while hitting .417 with 11 digs, one ace and one block. The sophomore leads the league in points in conference-only matches (5.42) and overall contests (5.30) and also ranks first in kills in overall matches (4.54).

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kristen Hahn, Iowa State, L, Jr., Cedar Rapids, Iowa
Hahn averaged 6.00 digs per set last week and served six aces as Iowa State split its road matches at No. 14 Kansas State and Texas Tech. The junior collected 24 digs against the Red Raiders on Saturday, the eighth time this season she has posted more than 20 digs in a match. After five conference contests, Hahn remains atop the Big 12 dig leader board with an average of 6.05 digs per set. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa-native is also tied for fourth in aces per set in conference play with 0.42 aces per set. Overall this season, Hahn is one of two Big 12 players averaging better than 5.00 digs per set, ranked second in the league at 5.08.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Julia Doyle, Oklahoma, S, Fr., Plymouth, Minn.
Doyle notched back-to-back double-doubles last week as the Sooners fell to Wichita State and topped TCU. Against the Shockers, the freshman totaled 44 assists and 12 digs to mark the fifth 40-plus assist performance of her rookie campaign. She also added two block assists and two kills. In Saturday's matchup against the Horned Frogs, Doyle totaled 30 assists and 10 digs for the sixth double-double of the season and second in as many matches. The Plymouth, Minn.-native also added a personal-best .571 hitting percentage and added three blocks and a team-high two service aces. Overall this season, she ranks sixth in the league in assists average (9.82) and fourth in service aces (0.36).
