• For the sixth straight week, the Texas Longhorns are the nation’s No.1 team in the AVCA rankings. UT has held the top spot since Oct. 21. The Jayhawks moved up one to No. 21 this week, while Iowa State is 25th.

• Texas claimed its third consecutive Big 12 title on Saturday with its 48th conference win in Gregory Gym. UT has earned seven league crowns overall, winning outright in 1997, 2011 and 2012 and sharing the title from 2007-09. The Longhorns are 59-2 in their last 61 Big 12 matches.

• The final week of the regular season concludes on Saturday with nine matches on tap this week, including seven conference contests. Iowa State will host Texas in Ames on Wednesday. The Cyclones defeated UT at home in 2012 to prevent the ‘Horns from a perfect conference record.

• Should UT win out, it will mark the fifth time a league volleyball team has gone undefeated in conference play and first since 2004. Nebraska achieved the feat four times with 20-0 league records. With a win at home on Saturday against BU, Texas will post its third straight undefeated conference record in Austin in a season. Additionally, with his next win, Texas head coach Jerritt Elliott will earn his 200th career conference win, becoming just the second coach in Big 12 history to reach the mark.

• Texas Tech libero Rachel Brummitt set the Big 12 record for digs in a four-set match last Wednesday, posting 36 against Oklahoma. The mark edges the previous record of 35 set in 2000. Brummitt averaged 7.00 kills on the week to earn the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week.

• KU is on pace to break its program record in attack percentage. The Jayhawks own a .264 mark heading into the week with .246 standing as the current program record (2003). KU’s mark ranks 23rd nationally while the Jayhawks are also in the top 15 in assists (13th) and kills (13th).

• The league has five teams in the NCAA RPI top 60 entering the week - No. 1 Texas, No. 12 Kansas, No. 22 Iowa State, No. 23 Oklahoma, and No. 58 Kansas State.

• The 2013 NCAA Selection Show is set for 8:30 p.m. CT on Sunday, Dec. 1. The Big 12 has totaled 102 appearances overall with a 165-99 record, including a 76-23 mark in first round action. The postseason event begins the Dec. 5-7 at campus sites with regional action the following weekend, Dec. 13-14.
