Current Football Notes in PDF

Big 12 teams will continue to slug it out the final two weeks of the season with key matchups left to decide the Big 12 champion. Among the top four teams, Oklahoma State, Baylor and Texas each have just one Conference loss while Oklahoma has two. OU will travel to OSU while BU hosts UT in the season’s final two games on Dec. 7.

For the third consecutive year since the Big 12 began round-robin play, the team that was undefeated in conference play and the Big 12’s highest-ranked BCS team has fallen on the road the third weekend in November.
2013 -- No. 4 Baylor at No. 10 Oklahoma State
   2012 -- No. 1 K-State at Baylor
2011 -- No. 2 Oklahoma State at Iowa State

Also since 2011, seven lower-ranked teams have defeated a higher-ranked Big 12 opponent. On 16 occasions, a ranked team has fallen to an unranked league foe, including four times this season.

Big 12 teams have used 19 different starters at quarterback with six of those freshmen. Only two teams (Baylor and K-State) have used the same starter throughout the season.

Conference offenses have scored touchdowns on 59 plays of 50-plus yards and engineered 128 scoring drives that covered at least 50 yards in less than 2 minutes.

The Big 12 is the only FBS league in which every team has at least one win in conference play.

Sixty percent of Big 12 teams are bowl-eligible: Baylor, K-State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas and Texas Tech.

Eighty percent of Conference teams are averaging over 94 percent stadium capacity for home game attendance, including three that are averaging over-capacity.

Clint Chelf (Oklahoma State) was named the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week and OSU was selected the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl National Team of the Week.
