Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Male Athlete of the Week
Trayvon Bromell, Baylor, Fr., St. Petersburg, Fla.
Bromell currently leads the country with a time of 20.23 in the 200-meter dash, which he ran to win the event on Friday at the TCU Invitational. That mark was a personal-best for the freshman and the sixth-fastest in Baylor history. After his outdoor debut, Bromell now trails only former world-record holder Michael Johnson, who ran the top-five 200-meter times ever by a BU athlete. The St. Petersburg, Fla., native also ran the leadoff leg for Baylor’s 4x100-meter relay team that won the TCU Invitational event title in 39.48. That time currently leads the Big 12 and is second in the nation. It was faster than any time the BU 4x100 crew ran all of last season.
