Griner and Sims on Final Wooden Award Ballot

Baylor's Brittney Griner and Odyssey Sims are among 15 student-athletes named to the final John R. Wooden Award Women's Ballot, announced by The Los Angeles Athletic Club President Steve Hathaway.

The finalists have proven to their universities that they are making progress toward graduation and maintaining at least a cumulative 2.0 GPA. Hundreds of members of the college basketball media will vote on the Wooden Award Player of the Year and All American team from 9:00 AM EST (6:00 AM PST), Monday, March 18, 2013, through 3:00 PM EST (Noon - PST), Wednesday, March 27, 2013, either online or through the mail.

Griner was the 2012 Wooden Award winner and a two-time Wooden All American.

The Wooden Award All American Team, consisting of the nation's top five players, will be announced the week of the "Elite Eight" round of the NCAA Tournament. The John R. Wooden Award Player of the Year will be announced at the 2013 Wooden Award Gala presented by Wendy's on April 12, 2013, at The Los Angeles Athletic Club. The Gala will honor the Men's and Women's Wooden Award winners, All Americans and the Legends of Coaching Award winner, Kansas Head Coach Bill Self.
