Lowe, Tanui Earn Runner of the Week Honors

Colby Lowe (Oklahoma State) and Rose Tanui (Texas Tech) have been named Big 12 Cross Country Runners of the Week. It is the second weekly award for both student-athletes.

Colby Lowe, Oklahoma State, Sr., Southlake, Texas
Running his first race of the season, Lowe paced the No. 1 nationally-ranked Cowboys with his second-place finish at the Cowboys Jamboree on Saturday. The Southlake, Texas-native completed the 8K course in a time of 23:47.96, the ninth-best time in the history of the course, while leading OSU to the team title for the second-straight year. Oklahoma State defeated three teams in the top 25-- Indiana, Northern Arizona and Arkansas.

Rose Tanui, Texas Tech, Sr., Burt Forest, Kenya
Tanui captured her third-straight individual win of the season at the Grass Route Festival-Grand Prix on Saturday. The All-American senior covered the 6K course in 21:13.4, beating teammate Caroline Jepleting by three seconds. Tanui claimed her seventh career victory while at Texas Tech and has finished in the top five in every race as a Red Raider.
