Kansas freshman Brendan Soucie and junior Devin Wiegers have been selected as Big 12 Cross Country Runners of the Week. It is the first weekly award for both student-athletes. Soucie is the first Jayhawk male to earn the honor since Zach Zarda in 2008. Wiegers is the second KU female to claim the award this season. It is only the second time Kansas runners have swept the weekly awards.

Brendan Soucie, Kansas, Fr., Osawatomie, Kan.
In only his third collegiate race, redshirt freshman Brendan Soucie was the KU men's top finisher at the Haskell Invitational Saturday. Soucie placed fourth, the first of three Jayhawks in the top 10. Completing the 8K course in a time of 26:21.21, Soucie improved his 8K time by more than two minutes since the Missouri Cross Country Challenge on Sept. 10.

Devin Wiegers, Kansas, Jr., Leawood, Kan.
Wiegers collected a career-best finish this past Saturday, when she placed second at the Haskell Invitational. She also set a season-best 5K time, clocking in at 19:29, ousting her former time by nearly a minute.
