Texas Tech junior Kennedy Kithuka and TCU senior Agnes Kemboi have earned Big 12 Runner of the Week honors. It is the first weekly award for both student-athletes. Kemboi is the first TCU runner to win the award, while Kithuka is the first Texas Tech male winner since 2010.

Kithuka set a course record and captured a first place finish for the second consecutive meet as he finished first overall at the Texas Tech Red Raider Open on Friday with a course record time of 23:38.44. The time broke the previous record by nearly a minute. It marked the second consecutive record-breaking performance for Kithuka, who set a course record in the Red Raiders' opener at the Texas Tech Open in Ruidoso, N.M. Kithuka is a transfer from Wayland Baptist University where he captured two NAIA Individual National Championships.
Agnes Kemboi, TCU, Sr., Eldoret, Kenya
Kemboi was in total control of the women's 5K event at the Ken Garland Invitational, taking the win in 17:02.72. Her performance helped TCU earn second place in the team competition, finishing only behind Metroplex rival SMU. The senior has finished first and second in two meets this season, taking runner-up honors at the Bear Twilight Invitational.
