TCU senior Agnes Kemboi and Texas Tech junior Kennedy Kithuka have earned Big 12 Runner of the Week honors. It is the second weekly award for both student-athletes. Both runners have received the accolade twice in the last three weeks.
Kennedy Kithuka, Texas Tech, Jr., Thika, Kenya
Kithuka won his third consecutive meet of the season by placing first overall at the Kansas Rim Rock Classic in Lawrence on Saturday. The junior crossed the line with a personal-best and course record time of 22:26.70 in the 8,000-meter race. The Thika, Kenya-native and two-time NAIA National Champion has broken three course records in three consecutive meets. On Saturday, he finished 45 seconds ahead of second place finisher Zachary Mayhew of Indiana.
