Texas Tech’s Adams Named Big 12 Women’s Tennis Player of the Week

Samantha Adams (Texas Tech) has been named the Big 12 Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches played from March 26 - April 1. This is the second honor for Adams this season and third of her career.

Adams led Texas Tech to a 6-1 win over No. 25 Oklahoma State, improving the Lady Raiders to 14-4 overall and 4-0 in the Big 12. It was a school record 17th straight home win for TTU. Adams upset No. 60 Malika Rose in straight sets at No. 1 singles and teamed with Kenna Kilgo to upend the No. 48 duo of Rose and Kanyapat Narattana, 8-3, at No. 1 doubles. The win for the No. 27 Adams-Kilgo tandem was their 10th straight and improved the duo to 18-6 on the season and 14-3 in dual matches. In singles competition, Adams is now 14-15 overall and 7-11 in dual matches.
