Seven Big 12 Conference men’s golf teams have been selected to compete in the NCAA Men’s Golf Regionals conducted May 15-17.
Texas, coming off a Big 12 Championship title, earned the three seed in the Auburn Regional and will travel to Auburn University Club in Auburn, Alabama.
Oklahoma State will be the top seed in the Columbia Regional at The Club at Old Hawthorne in Columbia, Missouri. The Cowboys will be joined by ninth-seed Iowa State. OSU is competing in the NCAA Regionals for the 26th consecutive year, while this marks the second regional bid for the Cyclones in the past three seasons.
Joining OSU and ISU in the Columbia Regional will be Kansas State’s Daniel Wood, receiving an individual bid.
Oklahoma (No. 3) and Baylor (No. 5) were both seeded in the Eugene Regional. The Sooners will be eyeing a fourth-consecutive championship appearance with the Bears looking to return to the championship for the first time since 2010.
In the Raleigh Regional, Texas Tech will travel to North Carolina, where it will be the No. 7 seed and play the Lonnie Poole Golf Club course.
As one of just three teams nationally, TCU earned its 25th-straight regional bid under the same head coach (Bill Montigel). The Horned Frogs will be the No. 9 seed and travel to Briggs Ranch Golf Club in San Antonio, Texas.
At each regional, the low five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals. The 2014 NCAA Men’s Golf Championship will be held May 23-28, at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kansas.
