First day pairings for the 2013 Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship have been set, the Conference announced. Pairings are based on the most recent Golfweek/Sagarin team rankings.
On Monday, April 22 at 8:00 a.m., No. 1 Texas, No. 2 TCU and No. 3 Oklahoma State will tee off on the first hole, while No. 4 Oklahoma No. 5 Texas Tech and No. 6 Baylor will follow at 8:50 a.m. Seventh-seeded Iowa State, will be paired with No. 8 Kansas and No. 9 Kansas State and will begin play on the 10th hole starting at 8:30 a.m.
Teams will consist of five golfers and the lowest four scores per round from the designated five-player team will be used. Scoring shall be stroke play.
The pairings for the second round of the first day will remain the same, but will switch starting times. The second round is scheduled to being 5 1/2 hours after the first-round tee times. Golfers will play 18 holes on Saturday and 18 more on Sunday to conclude the championship.
The 17th annual championship will be held Monday-Wednesday, April 22-24, at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan. The nine teams will compete at the par-70, 6,759 yard course during the three-day, 72-hole event hosted by Kansas State University. Prairie Dunes has played host to the Big 12 Championships 10 previous times, most recently in 2011.
The awards ceremony will follow Sunday’s final round. The Big 12 Men’s Golf Championship is open to the public.
