The No. 2 Oklahoma Sooners captured their fourth-straight NCAA Regional title Saturday night as the squad posted a team score of 197.375 at the Lloyd Noble Center in Norman, Okla., to advance to the 2013 NCAA Championship. Joining the Sooners in Los Angeles will be Iowa State’s Michelle Shealy who earned a berth to the Championship after receiving a 39.050 all-around total at the Tuscaloosa Regional.

The Championship will be the Sooners’ 10th-straight appearance and 13th overall at gymnastics’ final weekend in program history. OU claimed six individual Regional titles, including Rebecca Clark and Taylor Spears as co-champions on bars, Spears a co-champion on beam, Brie Olson and Haley Scaman co-champions on floor and Spears as the all-around champion. Spears, the Big 12 Gymnast of the Year and Big 12 all-around champion, scored a 39.525 for her eighth all-around title this season.

ISU’s Shealy qualified individually in the all-around, just her third appearance on the event this season. Shealy’s 39.050 score was her highest in the all-around this season. The Cyclone junior placed fifth in the all-around. The top two all-around finishers at the regional, not from a qualifying team, advance to the national championship.
