The Texas Longhorns are headed to the Women’s College World Series after a 4-0 win over Florida State on Sunday. UT joins Oklahoma in this year’s field as the Sooners punched their ticket to the tournament on Saturday.
The Big 12 will be represented by two teams in the WCWS for the fourth time in league history and first since 2007.
The Longhorns swept the best-of-three series with the Seminoles and earned the program's fifth trip to the WCWS. The appearance will be UT’s first since 2006.
Texas was led by Blaire Luna, who threw the program's third no hitter during NCAA Tournament competition. The no hitter was Luna's fourth of the season and eighth of her career.
The senior tied her single-season high with her 30th victory of the campaign, improving her record to 30-5. She struck out five of the first six batters she faced and allowed one walk, striking out 13 in seven innings.
The WCWS begins May 30 with a double-elimination tournament. Texas will face Arizona State at 7 p.m. while Oklahoma will follow at 9:30 p.m. in a matchup with Michigan.
