Gray Named Pitcher of the Year by College Baseball Hall of Fame

Former University of Oklahoma baseball pitcher Jonathan Gray was awarded the Pitcher of the Year award from the College Baseball Hall of Fame at its Night of Champions held this past Saturday.

Gray, who is set to make his professional debut with the Grand Junction Rockies of the Pioneer League this week, was the third overall pick in the Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft by Colorado in June. He earned four All-America honors, including three first team selections and one second team.

For the Sooners, Gray posted a 10-3 record with a 1.63 earned run average and 147 strikeouts in 126.1 innings pitched. His strikeout total was second in the country, while his ERA ranked 16th. Gray also ranked fifth in WHIP (0.85), 15th in strikeout-to-walk ratio (6.13) and 17th in strikeouts per nine innings (10.47).
