The Texas women’s team claimed second place at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon, collecting 66 points over four days. For the men, Baylor was the highest placed team in the league at eighth with 21 points.

The Longhorns conclude the 2014 season with two second-place finishes on the year, as they also claimed second at the NCAA Indoor Championships in March.

Individually, the Conference collected six event crowns.

The Longhorns 4x400m team of Briana Nelson, Kendall Baisden, Morolake Akinosun and Courtney Okolo recorded the second-best time in collegiate history at 3:24.21. Texas now has five of the top 10 women’s 4x400m relay times in collegiate history, three of them set this year.

Okolo collected another title for Texas in the 400m, while Marielle Hall earned the 5000m crown with a time of 15:35.11.

The Longhorns received another individual crown in the men’s shot put. Ryan Crouser finished with a best mark of 21.12m (69-3.5), over two feet further than second place. The title marks his third-straight NCAA shot put victory.

Iowa State’s Christina Hillman defended her indoor shout put title with a mark of 17.73m (58-2), becoming the first Cyclone to eclipse 58 feet in outdoor competition.

Baylor freshman Trayvon Bromell won the men's 100 meter finals with a wind-legal time of 9.97 seconds. The time set a World Junior record, passing Bromell’s shared record of 10.01.

The Big 12 finished with a total of six teams in the top 15 of the standings.
