Freshman Whitney Canion (BU) struck out three in top-half of the first, allowing Baylor to get on the scoreboard first as Bree Hanafin crossed the plate to give her team the 1-0 lead. The Aggies came back in the third inning scoring three runs on one hit and two errors as Macie Morrow, Kelsea Orsak and Kelsey Spittler all crossed the plate to give A&M the 3-1 lead.
Things heated up as Baylor went on a run in the bottom of the fifth, scoring three runs on three hits. Brette Reagan and Nicole Wesley both scored on a double by Alex Colyer down the left-field line. Colyer eventually scored after the Aggies tied up Sydney Wilson in a pickle between second and third, giving BU the 4-3 advantage.
Up first at the plate in the top of the seventh, A&M’s Alex Reynolds hit a homerun off a 3-2 pitch to even up the score 4-4. With two outs and bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh, Baylor’s Meagan Weldon singled to left center to allow Courtney Oberg to score the winning run for the Bears, 5-4.
Baylor (37-19) will advance to meet Missouri in game seven at 5 p.m. at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium. Texas A&M finishes their regular season campaign with a 31-20 mark, 18-21 all-time at the league event.
