Wendell Barnhouse is a nationally-known and respected columnist who has spent over 20 years covering collegiate athletics. He has reported from 25 Final Fours and more than three dozen bowl games and has written about the Big 12 and its schools since the conference's beginning. Barnhouse will be updating the Big 12 Insider on happenings and behind-the-scenes information about the conference.

In his regular 3-Point Stance feature, ESPN.com's Ivan Maisel writes that two former Oklahoma All-Americans made a rare statement by giving back to the school:

Football players are notorious for not donating money to their alma maters. Supposedly, they believe that they gave enough of themselves in blood and sweat when they played, forgetting that they received an education and a step up the ladder in return.

So kudos to Oklahoma, who announced recently that former Sooner All-Americans Adrian Peterson and Sam Bradford donated $500,000 apiece to the new $75 million Headington Hall. The donations say a lot about them -- and about their experience at OU.
