Polls
The Sunday release of the Associated Press and USA Today Coaches polls brought more good news for the Big 12. Oklahoma solidified its hold on No. 1 in both polls while Missouri moved up thanks to its dominating victory at Nebraska. The Sooners picked up eight first-place votes in the media poll and have 60 of 61 first-place votes in the coaches' poll (the other first-place vote belongs to LSU). Missouri moved up to No. 2 in the coaches and No. 3 in the media polls. In both cases, the Tigers replaced the Tigers from LSU. Kansas moved up from No. 16 to No. 15 in the coaches' poll. Oklahoma State moved up to No. 17 in both polls.

Baylor (2-3, 0-1, vs. Iowa State, 6 p.m., Fox College Sports)
The Bears finished with just 75 yards passing. That's the fewest they've had in a game since 2002, when the Bears had 62 yards against New Mexico. ... Baylor has lost four times to Big 12 teams that were ranked No. 1. The composite score in those games is 205-27. ... Cornerback Antareis Bryan made his first career start had had career highs in tackles (seven) and solo stops (five). ... Oklahoma defensive end Jeremy Beal on Baylor freshman quarterback Robert Griffin: "That guy is fast. He escaped me a couple of times. He had a couple of big runs, but I thought we did a good job overall of containing him."

Colorado (3-2, 0-1, at Kansas, 11:30 a.m., ESPN2)
Kicker Aric Goodman tied the school record for the most missed field goals in a game with three in the first half. The last time that happened was the 2002 Big 12 Championship game when Pat Brougham missed on tries from 41, 32 and 33 yards. ... Colorado has six interceptions and has returned those picks for 142 yards, an average of 23.7 per return. ... The Texas game was a sellout, the first at Folsom Field since the 2005 Nebraska game. ... The Buffs' three-game winning streak wearing all-black uniforms ended. Colorado is 21-15-1 in all-black. ... The Buffs held Texas to less than three yards on 27 of 46 rushing attempts. The Longhorns had two long plays _ 65 and 51 yards. Minus those plays, Texas averaged just 4.3 yards per play.

Iowa State (2-3, 0-1, at Baylor, 6 p.m., Fox College Sports)
Sophomore quarterback Austen Arnaud, who played the entire game for the first time this season, set career highs for completions (27), pass attempts (45), yards (268), passing touchdowns (3) and rush attempts (17). ... Receiver R.J. Sumrall finished with career highs in receptions (10) and receiving yards (106). ... His 10 receptions were the most by an Iowa State receiver since J.J. Moses had 11 catches against Nebraska in 2000. ... Freshman Grant Mahoney is now 18-of-18 on extra points and 9-of-13 on field goals this season. ... Kansas coach Mark Mangino on the Cyclones: "I think Iowa State is Kansas five years ago."

Kansas (4-1, 1-0, vs. Colorado, 11:30 a.m., ESPN2)
By finishing with 107 yards receiving, running back Jake Sharp became the fifth different Jayhawk to record over 100 yards receiving in a single game this season. Additionally, Sharp is the first Jayhawk running back to achieve the feat going back to at least the 1974 season. ... The come-from-behind victory tied the third-biggest comeback for victory in Kansas history. It was the biggest comeback win since 1992, when KU trailed Iowa State in Ames by 26 (21-47), and came back to win 50-47. ... Kansas has won five consecutive Big 12 road games. ... Junior quarterback Todd Reesing has 5,414 career passing yards, second in school history behind Frank Seuer (6,410). ... Kansas has had four straight games with at least two receivers with 100 or more yards receiving.

Kansas State (3-2, 0-1, at Texas A&M, 1 p.m.)
Texas Tech's point total (58) was the most allowed to an opponent in Big 12 play at Bill Snyder Family Stadium and the most since Nov. 18, 1989, when No. 2 Colorado tallied 59. ... Kansas State blocked the only punt of the day by Texas Tech and returned it for a touchdown during the fourth quarter. ... Courtney Herndon had the block and Ernie Pierce recovered and returned for the TD. That's the second time this season that duo has combined for a blocked punt and touchdown. ... Since 1999, Kansas State has 65 non-offensive touchdowns. ... The 86 combined points was the highest in a Kansas State loss in the history of Bill Snyder Family Stadium.

Missouri (5-0, 1-0, vs. Oklahoma State, 7 p.m., ESPN2)
Missouri has scored on its first possession in all five games. ... The Chase Daniel-Jeremy Maclin 58-yard TD pass was the longest scoring play at Nebraska for the Tigers since a school-record 98-yard TD pass from Pete Woods to Joe Stewart in 1976, a 34-24 Mizzou win. ... Missouri has four interception returns for touchdowns this season - all by linebackers. ... The Tigers have punted 10 times this season and have not attempted a punt in their last two games.

Nebraska (3-2, 0-1, at Texas Tech, 2 p.m., FSN)
Coach Bo Pelini said he would try to contact Missouri coach Gary Pinkel to discuss post-game comments made by Tigers quarterback Chase Daniel. He said the Huskers played dirty and that a Nebraska player spit on him before the game. Pelini said he watched the game tape and saw no dirty play. Regarding the alleged spitting, he said, "I'm going to investigate it and find out because that's unacceptable if something like that happened. And I would hope that the opposing coaching staff would let me know if something like that happened." ... Nebraska had not lost a conference home opener since falling to Iowa State in 1977. ... The Huskers have lost their last seven games vs. ranked teams. Since 2000 they are 5-6 against ranked opponents in Memorial Stadium. ... The Huskers lost their conference opener for just the second time in the last 35 seasons and was the first time since 1977 Nebraska has lost a conference home opener. ... Sophomore kicker Alex Henery has connected on 15-of-16 career field goals and has yet to miss an extra point in 65 attempts. ... Nebraska 26-5 in night games at Memorial Stadium.

Oklahoma (5-0, 1-0, vs. Texas, 11 a.m., ABC)
The Sooners' first touchdown came just 70 seconds after kickoff and was the team's earliest score of the season. ... The Sooners' 28 points was the most they've scored in a first quarter this season. ... The Sooners have outscored its opponents 103-3 in the opening quarter. ... Oklahoma senior wide Manuel Johnson has 10 receptions for 298 yards in his last two games. ... Junior linebacker Keenan Clayton had a career-high 14 tackles. ...

Oklahoma State (5-0, 1-0, vs. Missouri, 7 p.m., ESPN2)
In the first half against Texas A&M, the Cowboys' defense forced five turnovers while holding the Aggies to three-and-out on three other series. ... Attendance for the game was 51,147, giving the Cowboys back-to-back home games over 50,000 for the third in school history. The last time it happened was 1985 (vs. Nebraska and Kansas State). ... Oklahoma State is 5-0 for the eighth time in school history and first time since 2004. ... The Cowboys have scored 50 or more points in four consecutive games, a school record. ... Receiver Dez Bryant's nine touchdown receptions have come in threes _ against Texas A&M, roy and Houston.

Texas (5-0, 1-0, vs. Oklahoma, 11 a.m., ABC)
Chris Ogbonnaya’s 111 receiving yards in the first half set a school record for most by a running back in a half. He finished with 116 receiving yards, second to the 120 by Eric Metcalf against Rice in 1985. ... Freshman running back Cody Johnson has a rushing touchdown in each of his first five games, a UT record. ... Texas is 5-0 for the fifth time under coach Mack Brown. ... The Longhorns' 236 points in their first five games are the most for a UT team since the 1915 team scored 281 in its first five. ... All five of the Longhorns' foes have scored 14 or fewer points. The last time that happened in the first five games was 1991. ... With two passing touchdowns against Colorado, junior quarterback Colt McCoy passed Ricky Williams on Texas' career list for touchdowns responsible for (passing, rushing, receiving). McCoy has 77 and trails Vince Young, who had 81 in his career. ... McCoy and Quan Cosby have hooked up for 131 completions. That ties the school record for most connections between a quarterback and a wide receiver. Chris Simms and Roy Williams hold the record.

Texas A&M (2-3, 0-1, vs. Kansas State, 1 p.m.)
The bright spot in the loss at Oklahoma State was the Aggies' offense, which produced season highs in rushing (184 yards) and total offense (402 yards). ... Junior running back Mike Goodson's 80-yard touchdown run was a career best. ... Redshirt freshman Ryan Tannehill, a converted quarterback, had the best receiving game of his young career with the first two receiving touchdowns of his career on six- and four-yard throws from quarterback Jerrod Johnson. Tannehill finished with a game-high seven catches for 49 yards. ... Freshman Cyrus Gray returned six kickoffs for 145 yards, a career-high.

Texas Tech (5-0, 1-0, vs. Nebraska, 2 p.m., FSN)
The Red Raiders have put up a combined 117 points against Kansas State in the last two meetings. Tech defeated KSU 59-20 in Lubbock in 2005. ... The Red Raiders are 5-0 for the fifth time in school history. Texas Tech was 10-0 in 1938, 8-0 in 1976 and 6-0 in 2005 - the school's best starts. ... Texas Tech has won seven consecutive Big 12 games, the best streak in the school's 12-plus seasons in the conference. ... Sophomore receiver Michael Crabtree has 30 touchdown receptions, matching the school record of 30 by Jarrett Hicks. ... "We walk down and everybody was chanting 'Overrated, overrated!' " Tech running back Baron Batch said. "Maybe we are. Honestly, I don't care if that's what people think, because we're winning. All we can control is just going out and winning the next ball game, and we've been doing that."
