Week 5 features one conference game as Oklahoma State opens its Big 12 season at West Virginia, who plays its second league game. In a non-conference top 25 matchup No. 12/14 Oklahoma travels to No. 22/22 Notre Dame. Iowa State and TCU also conclude their non-conference schedules while Baylor, Kansas, K-State, Texas and Texas Tech have a        bye.

114 freshmen (true and redshirt) have seen action in the first four weeks for Big 12 teams.

The Big 12 is second among FBS leagues with 277.1 passing yards and 461.9 total offense yards a game.  

The Big 12 is the only league with fifty percent of its teams in the top 23 nationally for scoring defense.

Eight Big 12 programs are averaging over 90 percent capacity for attendance.

Thirteen players have combined for 17 100-yard receiving performances.

The Big 12 has scored on defense or special teams every week this season including on three occasions in week 4.   

Through four weeks, Big 12 teams have compiled 21 plays of 50-plus yards. 

Four teams are ranked in both the coaches and AP polls.

The Big 12 is 65-10 in non-league games in the month of September from 2011-13 combined.

Trevor Pardula (Kansas) was named the Ray Guy Award Player of the Week.

Big 12 players of the week were awarded to offense: Jonathan Gray (Texas), defense: Terrell Burt (Baylor) and Jackson Jeffcoat (Texas), and special teams: Trevor Pardula (Kansas).
