• Oklahoma is the only Big 12 squad ranked in all four of the national polls this week, while Oklahoma State is on three of the four lists. The Sooners' highest ranking is No. 16 in the USA Today Coaches' Poll. Oklahoma State is No. 20 on the same list as well as in the NCBWA rankings, while Texas Tech is receiving votes.

• Kansas (at TCU), K-State (vs. West Virginia) and Texas Tech (at Texas) picked up series wins over the weekend to open Big 12 play. Three conference series are on tap this week as Baylor and Oklahoma State face off in Stillwater, while Oklahoma hosts TCU. Texas Tech will play West Virginia at Appalachian Power Park in Charleston, W. Va.

•The Red Raiders' 2-1 series win over the Longhorns marked it first series win over Texas in Austin since 2001. Tech allowed only four runs in the three-game set, which marks the fewest runs allowed by a TTU team against UT in series history dating back to 1968. The Friday shutout win marked Texas Tech's first shutout over Texas in Austin since 1991 and the Red Raiders first series opening victory over the Longhorns in Austin since 1994.

• Oklahoma's five home games this week will all be televised, including its Big 12 series against TCU this weekend. Contests can be found on Fox College Sports or Fox Sports Southwest. Additionally, K-State's two midweek games against Minnesota will be available (Tues. - Fox College Sports, Wednesday - Fox Sports Midwest).

• Entering the week, Oklahoma's Matt Oberste leads the league with a 24-game hitting streak, which dates back to three games in 2012. It is the third longest hitting streak in Oklahoma program history. He leads the Big 12 with a .474 batting average, 37 hits, six home runs, 28 RBI, a slugging percentage of .859 and an on-base percentage of .543. Entering this week, his batting average ranks third in the nation and his hit total is second-best.

• After the first five weeks of play, Oklahoma State is 10th in the nation in batting average with a .318 clip. K-State (18th) and West Virginia (22nd) also rank in the top 25.

• Trey Masek (Texas Tech) had his consecutive scoreless innings streak snapped at 32.1 innings last Saturday. Masek's ERA of 0.23 still leads the Big 12 and ranks fourth in the nation behind three hurlers with 0.00 marks.

• Last week, seven additional contest have been selected for telecast by Fox College Sports, including six Big 12 matchups.

• Kaiana Eldridge (Kansas), Blair DeBord (K-State) and Jacob Felts (Texas) are three of 48 catchers named to the initial watch list for the 2013 Johnny Bench Award.
