
Malika Rose (Oklahoma State) has been named the Big 12 Women’s Tennis Player of the Week for matches played from March 19-25. This is the first career honor for Rose and first for the Cowgirls since April 2, 2007 (Lauren Simmons).

Rose went 3-1 overall in two matches this week, helping the Cowgirls defeat No. 47 Illinois and No. 12 Nebraska. The senior defeated three ranked opponents in doubles and singles. Against Nebraska, she upended No. 10 Mary Weatherholt (6-4, 4-6, 7-5), who was previously undefeated this season. With her win over Weatherholt, Rose moved into seventh place for all-time singles victories in Oklahoma State program history. Along with teammate Kanyapat Narattana, she defeated the No. 7 and No. 17 ranked doubles teams, helping the Cowgirls win the doubles point in both matches this week.
