The Walter Camp Football Foundation has announced the names of fifteen “Players to Watch” for its 2013 Player of the Year award, the fourth-oldest college football award in the nation.
Baylor’s Bryce Petty represents the Big 12 on the “Players to Watch” list. Petty leads the nation in Pass Efficiency (210.6) and Yards/Comp (19.68) and leads the Big 12 in Passing Yards (332.1) and Completion % (66.8).
Petty's current 210.64 passer efficiency rating is on pace to break the NCAA record set by Russell Wilson in 2011 (191.78) and Robert Griffin III's Baylor record set in 2011 (189.48).
A list of five finalists will be announced on Wednesday, December 2.
The 2013 Walter Camp Player of the Year recipient, who is voted on by the Football Bowl Subdivision head coaches and sports information directors, will be presented on Thursday, December 12 during the 6 p.m. edition of ESPN SportsCenter.
