The squad opened up competition for the ‘Cats with a bang on Saturday, placing second in their heat to advance to the Cal Cup Grand Final. The crew finished second only to the eventual Cal Cup Champion, Victoria, with a time of 7:05.679. In the Cal Cup Grand Final, the 1V8 finished sixth. The sixth-place finish was the best finish by a K-State 1V8 at the Crew Classic since the 2010-11 squad nabbed Cal Cup bronze.
