Kansas shortstop Chaley Brickey and Oklahoma catcher Whitney Ellis earned Big 12 Co-Player of the Week honors. Sooner right-handed pitcher, Kelsey Stevens claimed Pitcher of the Week. It is the first career weekly award for the three student-athletes.

Chaley Brickey, Kansas, So., Shortstop, Haltom City, Texas
Brickey hit .643 (9-for-14) last week with nine hits, including three doubles and three home runs, nine runs scored and a team-high six RBIs. She tallied multiple hits in three of five games and multiple RBIs in two games over the weekend as she helped the Jayhawks to a 4-1 record. Brickey hit a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate against tournament host South Florida with three RBI and three runs scored.
She hit a long ball in three-straight games and leads the team with five on the season. She also recorded a team-best slugging percentage of 1.500 and on-base percentage of .737. Brickey led the team this week in hits (nine), runs (nine), doubles (three), home runs (three) and walks (five). The sophomore launched a three-run homerun versus USF against the US National Team pitcher, Sara Nevins.

Whitney Ellis, Oklahoma, So., Catcher, Yukon, Okla.
Ellis was on a major hot streak last week, going a team-best 9-13 (.692) with three home runs, 12 RBI, five runs scored and two stolen bases. She got on-base at a .714 clip and slugged 1.462. Ellis led the Sooners, who were 4-0 on the week, in average (.692), hits (nine), doubles (1), RBI (12), OBP (.714) and stolen bases (two).
Against Louisiana Tech, Ellis had the first multi-homer game of her career as she hit a three-run homer in the first and a walk-off, two-run shot in the bottom of the sixth. She finished 3-4 at the plate, establishing a career high in hits, runs scored (three), RBI (five) and home runs (two).
Big 12 Pitcher of the Week
Kelsey Stevens, Oklahoma, So., RHP, Albuquerque, N.M.
Stevens won all three of her starts last week for the Sooners in complete-game efforts, striking out 27 batters in 19.0 innings of work.
After back-to-back eight-strikeout performances against Louisiana Tech and Western Illinois, Stevens established a season high with 11 strikeouts in a shutout win over No. 20 Tulsa. The sophomore gave up two hits in 23 at-bats (.087) to limit a Golden Hurricane squad that came in with a .336 team batting average.
