Natali Jones (Kansas State) and Kierra Holst (Oklahoma) share this week’s Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week award while Caitlin Nolan (Iowa State) has been named the Defensive Player of the Week and Kylee Zumach (Kansas State) has claimed the Rookie of the Week.

Holst earns her second Offensive Player of the Week distinction for the year, while Nolan picks up her third Defensive Player of the Week and Zumach claims her fifth Rookie of the Week honor. Zumach is the fourth player in league history to garner five or more Rookie of the Week awards in a single season since the award was established in 2008.

Offensive Players of the Week
Natali Jones, Kansas State, Sr., MB, Pratt, Kan./Pratt CC
Jones hit well over .600 and reached double-digits in kills in both of K-State’s wins last week, helping her rank second in the Big 12 with a .676 hitting percentage while also placing among the top 10 in kills per set (3.0, T-9th) and points per set (4.06, 5th). The middle blocker, who leads the Big 12 in blocks for the season, was also tied for fourth in blocks per set (1.50).

In K-State’s sweep of Oklahoma on Wednesday, the redshirt senior reached double-figures in kills for the first time in her career, registering 12 on 16 attempts for a .688 hitting percentage (one error). Jones only needed the next match to once again reach double-digits in kills, matching her career-high with 12 on 18 errorless attempts (.667) in a five-set win at West Virginia on Saturday. Overall, Jones averaged 3.0 kills/set, 0.25 aces/set, 0.75 digs/set and 1.50 blocks/set while hitting .676 in eight sets played last week.

Kierra Holst, Oklahoma, Jr., OH, Coppell, Texas/Coppell
Holst hit a team-best .311 and averaged 4.50 kills per set in a 1-1 week on the road for the Sooners against two top 25 programs. She hit a season-high .588 with 11 kills and one error on 17 attempts at No. 22 Kansas State on Wednesday. Holst then tallied a match-high 16 kills on 44 attempts as Oklahoma upset No. 2 Texas in the Sooners’ first win in Austin since 2008. She added two service aces and a block against the Longhorns and recorded four digs for the week.

Defensive Player of the Week
Caitlin Nolan, Iowa State, Jr., L, Southlake, Texas/Southlake
Nolan had a historic week for the Cyclones, finishing the week with a Big 12-best 78 digs at 7.80 digs per set. In ISU’s win over Kansas, Nolan broke the Iowa State record and tied the Big 12 record for digs in a match with 43. Nolan was busy throughout the match, recording 11 digs in the first set and 13 in the third against the Jayhawks. She continued her strong play at Baylor, recording a match-high 35 digs in the five-set match, which included another 10-dig set as she had 10 in the second frame. She was also strong in her serve receive game, recording only one receiving error in 10 sets of action across the week.

Rookie of the Week
Kylee Zumach, Kansas State, Fr., OH, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo
Zumach led all Big 12 freshmen last week with 32 kills, 4.0 kills per set and 4.25 points/set while hitting a combined .284 over K-State’s two wins. After tallying eight kills in a sweep of Oklahoma on Wednesday, the outside hitter broke out for 24 kills on a .305 hitting percentage to help power K-State to a five-set road win over West Virginia. The Wildcats had to come from behind after dropping the first set to the Mountaineers, but Zumach had 21 of her 24 kills in sets two through five, including three on five attempts in the match-deciding fifth. It was Zumach’s third 20+ kill effort this season, the most by a Wildcat freshman since 2000. The 24 kills also fell one shy of tying the record for kills by a K-State freshman in a single-match. Zumach added nine digs and four digs over the week, and she was fourth among Big 12 players in kills per set and points per set.
