A Big 12 record-tying 15 volleyball student-athletes received American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-America recognition, marking the most since 15 were named in 2014. Over half of the volleyball programs were represented on the list (56 percent) including Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.

Texas led the way with six honorees, the most by an individual Big 12 program since 2013.

Texas’ Chiaka Ogbogu recorded the Big 12’s lone first team honor. With the award, Ogbogu is just the third Longhorn in history to earn All-America status four times (2013, ’14, ’15, ’17) and stands as the one of just three student-athletes on the 2017 team to do so.
