Six Big 12 players were honored by the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) with Baylor’s Kalani Brown named to the All-America team.
Honorable mention selections included Nina Davis (Baylor), Breanna Lewis (K-State), Ariel Atkins (Texas), Brooke McCarty (Texas) and Tynice Martin (West Virginia).
Each helped their squad to an NCAA Championship appearance with Texas advancing to the Sweet 16 while Baylor made it to the round of eight.
Additionally, all six were named to All-Big 12 teams with McCarty earning Big 12 Player of the Year.
Brown led the Lady Bears in scoring (15.4), field goal percentage (.679), rebounding (8.2) and shot blocking (2.0). She compiled a team-high 11 double-doubles and registered eight 20-point performances in 21.4 minutes per game.
