Iowa State’s Sami Williams and Emma Hylen take home the Player and Pitcher of the Week awards for the second week of action. This marks their first career honors. Williams is the first Player of the Week from Iowa State since the 2013 campaign.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Sami Williams, Iowa State, Fr., 2B, Laguna Niguel, Calif.
  • Was the offensive catalyst to ISU’s 5-0 weekend at the Tiger Classic in Nashville, Tenn., leading the way with three home runs and two doubles in just 14 at-bats.
  • Racked-up a team-high nine RBI while leading the Cyclones to its first undefeated weekend since the 2015 season.
  • Notched eight runs and 17 total bases on her way to owning a .500 on-base percentage.
  • Earned a 1.214 slugging percentage and a .429 batting average.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Emma Hylen, Iowa State, So., Roseville, Minn.

  • Picked up a win and two saves in three appearances in a dominating fashion, allowing no earned runs in 11.1 innings of work over the weekend.
  • Recorded 13 strikeouts, including a career-high 11 in Saturday’s victory over Alabama A&M.
  • Held opposing batters to a cumulative .119 batting average
  • Closed out the tournament finale versus Tennessee State when the bases were loaded and ensured a 2-0 victory for ISU.
