Eleven Invited to USA Softball National Team Tryouts

Eleven Big 12 current and former softball student-athletes were chosen to participate in the 2018 USA Softball Women’s National Team Selection Camp. Six of the 11 players currently play for a Big 12 institution.

Oklahoma leads the nation with nine invitations while Baylor and Texas each recorded one apiece.

Of the 11 players honored, nine accepted the opportunity. The camp takes place Jan. 1-5, 2018 in Clearwater, Fla. During the selection process, athletes will participate in position drills as well as simulated games and be evaluated by the USA Softball Women’s National Team Selection Committee.

A total of 61 athletes were invited with 56 accepting the invitation. Athletes who accepted the invitation will vie for a spot on the 2018 USA Softball Women’s National Team roster, which will compete at the World Baseball Softball Confederation Women's World Championship in Chiba, Japan, Aug. 2-12, 2018, the World Cup of Softball XIII and select invitational events.
