TCU senior Vladimir Brodziansky and Texas freshman Mohamed Bamba have been named candidates for the 2018 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award. Named after Hall of Famer and three-time NCAA Champion Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the annual honor in its fourth year recognizes the top centers in Division I men’s college basketball.
Brodziansky leads the Horned Frogs with a 15.2 points per game and has scored in double figures in each of his last 15 games, while Bamba leads the Longhorns in rebounding (10.8 rpg) and blocks (4.22 bpg) while also recording 12 double-doubles.
The winner of the 2018 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award will be presented at ESPN’s College Basketball Awards presented by Wendy’s in downtown Los Angeles on Friday, April 6, 2018. Broadcast information for the show will be released at a later date.
