Heil Takes Second Consecutive NCAA Title

Oklahoma State’s Dean Heil took home an individual NCAA title in Saint Louis. Heil beat Virginia’s George DiCamillo to win his second consecutive national title at the 141 pound plateau.

With the win, the Cowboy junior caps off a 32-0 season and also posted the 15th undefeated season of 29 wins or more in program history. Heil defeated his opponent 6-3 to seal the crown.

Seth Gross became the first NCAA finals qualifier for South Dakota State, but fell in the 133 pound bout to Iowa’s Cory Clark 4-3.

The Cowboys took third place in the team standings with 103 points. Penn State took the title with 146.5 tallies. South Dakota State finished 16th with 28.5 points.
