Lokedi Finishes Fifth at NCAA Championship

Kansas’ Sharon Lokedi ran to a fifth place finish at the NCAA Cross Country Championship in Terre Haute, Indiana. The 19:52.2 time finish was the highest of the Big 12 individuals competing, and marked KU’s highest place finish since 1965 when John Lawson won the men’s title.

Oklahoma State, Baylor and Iowa State women’s teams competed in the meet, finishing 17th (465 points), 27th (586 points) and 29th (608 points), respectively.

On the men’s side, Oklahoma State raced to 12th place (363 points), Iowa State 16th (384 points), and Texas finished 30th (736 points).

Two other runners earn individual All-America honors (top 40 finishers), OSU’s Hassan Abdi who finished 16th and Joshua Thompson who finished 36th in the men’s 8K.
