For the third time Texas Tech women's tennis has clinched a share of the Big 12 regular season title. TTU started conference season with an 8-0 record to claim the title and currently ranks fifth nationally.
TTU earned the honor after a 4-0 victory over West Virginia Sunday afternoon in their home facility, McLeod Tennis Center. The Red Raiders swept the first four points of the match to earn its first Big 12 championship since 2012.
Heading into its final week of regular season action, Texas Tech is slated to face TCU on the road next Saturday. TTU will earn the Big 12 crown outright with a win next week, or a loss by Oklahoma State.
The Big 12 Championship will take place April 27-30 in Norman, Okla. at the Headington Family Tennis Center.
