Seven student-athletes from Big 12 schools have been named to the 2017 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Men's and Women's At-Large Teams.
The honor recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
In men's sports, P.J Dunne of Texas (swimming), Texas Tech's Bjorn Thomson (tennis) and West Virginia's Will Anti (rifle) were named to the squad. On the women's side; tennis athletes Blair Shankle (Baylor) and Lily Miyasaki (Oklahoma) along with golfer Kelly McGovern (TCU) and swimmer Amelie Currat (West Virginia) earned spots.
The Academic All-District® teams include the student-athletes divided into eight geographic districts across the United States and Canada. This is the sixth year of the expanded Academic All-America® program.
