Six conference tennis squads advance to the round of 16 in the 2017 NCAA Tennis Championship hosted in Athens, Georgia.
Five of the six men's tennis squads advanced to the NCAA championship with all five hosting first and second round action. Baylor, Oklahoma, TCU and Texas will move on to next weekend's play.
Baylor swept their two opponents, Lamar (4-0) and Cornell (4-0), to capture a place in the third round for the 15th time in 16 seasons. Oklahoma took down Bryant (4-0) and Mississippi State (4-1) to also move on.
TCU earned their 15th and 16th straight win on the season after taking down Jackson State (4-0) and Florida State (4-1), while Texas took a 4-0 victory against Presbyterian and a hard fought match against Tulane 4-3 to move on to the round of 16. Oklahoma will take on Ohio State, TCU will face off against Illinois and Baylor will match up against Texas in a Big 12 battle in the third round.
Texas Tech will advance on the women's side, along with Oklahoma State. Texas Tech finished off Quinnipiac (4-0) and Denver (4-1) as they advance to play Auburn in the next round. The cowgirls finished their opponents UMKC and Arkansas 4-0 each to move on to face Georgia Tech in the third round.
