K-State Athlete of the Year Candidates

Big 12 Athlete of the Year candidates will be highlighted each day through July 23. Fans will then be able to vote for their male and female choices on July 23-25 on Big12Sports. Fan voting will be considered in the final tally for selecting this prestigious award. Today’s featured candidates are Kansas State’s Nina Schultz and Jordan Willis.

^ Runner-Up in the Heptathlon (5,959 pts.) at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Championship
^ 2017 Big 12 Outdoor Track and Field Championship High Point Scorer of the Meet (25 pts.)
^ Helped lead K-State to the 2017 Big 12 Outdoor Championship
^ Broke the Canadian U20 Pentathlon and Heptathlon National Records
^ First Team All-American, both indoor and outdoor

K-State Male Athlete of the Year Candidate
Jordan Willis; Football
Sr; Kansas City, Mo.


^ Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and Lineman of the Year
^ Second Team All-American (Sporting News, Pro Football Focus)
^ Tied the school’s single-season sack record with 11.5
^ His 11.5 sacks also led the Big 12 and tied for 12th nationally
^ Forced over 100 yards in TFLs and 80 yards in sacks, the first Wildcat to do so since 2002
