Texas, Iowa State Take Lead at Indoor Championship

The 2018 Big 12 Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship began on Friday, with the Texas men and Iowa State women leading in team points after the first day of competition.

 

Behind the efforts of Steffin McCarter in the Long Jump and the Men’s Distance Medley Relay team, the Longhorns scored 44 points, followed by Iowa State’s 37 points and Texas Tech’s 31 points. The Iowa State women jumped ahead with a win in the Distance Medley Relay, the final event of the night. The Kansas women are close behind with 42.5 points followed by Texas with 38 points.

 

The action continues tomorrow from the Lied Recreation Athletic Center in Ames, Iowa.
